      Darts World Cup, 2009
Started last year, the World Cup of Darts is back. Grab a few of your fellow countrymen and come out and support your Nation by competing for the coveted World Cup of Darts Championship trophy. Last year the American's took the cup, now it's up to the rest of the darting nations to take it from them.

The format will be the same as last year with

    2 doubles (A team and B team)

    4 singles

2 doubles (reverse of the first doubles)

    1 Team game (801)

All games are best of three 501 with the exception of the team game which is 1 game 801. Same as last year we will break into pools (how many teams per pool depending upon registration) and top 2 from each pool will move on to the knockout rounds.

Play will be every Tuesday from June 30th until July 28th. Please register with me via e-mail (chairman@thesidl.com) or text message (0909696171). You need a minimum of 4 players and can have a maximum of 6. If you have a player out of the country you may have more than 6 (please inform me) as long as they have not competed with another team. When registering, please include a Team Name, Captian Name and contact information, and player list.

Again this year we will have a United Nations (UN) team for those people in the darts league with less than 6 from your home nation.

    Shoot Well,

    Rick Horton
    SIDL Chairman

    • The Annual Darts Meeting (AGM) results

The AGM has come and gone. I would like to thank the 40 or so members that showed up and voiced their opinions. Here is a rundown of what happened at the meeting.

There were 3 new members elected. - Ken Fudge (Entertainment Director) - Steve Negley (Secretary) - Michael Keung (Sponsorship Director) There were 3 members who stayed on uncontested. Rick Horton (Chairman) Craig Wilson (Treasurer) Brett Nelson (Stats/Web)

We had a few issues resolved as well. - Each team is responsible for their own score girls. The league will no longer sponsor the girls. It was decided that each team can (A) find and hire their own girl, (B) have their bar sponsor their girl, (C) score themselves.

    - Home teams have to submit scoresheets to chairman@thesidl.com, secretary@thesidl.com, or stats@thesidl.com or they can be dropped off at Ice Blue on the night of the match. We will have a strict policy this year. If the score sheets aren't recieved by 5 p.m. the Thursday after the match, the visiting team will be awarded a forfeit.
