Rules and Regulations 2008
1. All team members submitted to play for a team will have to be registered and
would be expected to stay with that team for the season duration.
2. A minimum of 6 players must be registered for each team; this will help to keep
and maintain a team with enough players to play each week.
3. Changing of teams by a player will be permitted only if the two team’s captains
agree. The change must be notified to the committee prior to the next match being
played. A player can only change once in a season and will not be allowed to return
to his original team under any circumstances in that season.
4. The exception to rule 3 will be up to the 3rd week of the season when a grace
period will be offered to all players who wish to change teams and can do so freely
subject to the new teams captains approval. The change must be advised to the committee
before the 4th week’s matches.
5. Before the 4th week a list of each teams registered members will be sent to the
committee each captain so that all teams’ players are known to all and any updates
will be sent out as they occur.
6. Any team selecting an additional player or players during the season will be
permitted but only if that player or players have not participated in any match
for any other team after the 3rd week, (subject to rule 3) and the player must be
registered with the committee immediately after the game.
7. It is the Captains responsibility to inform the committee in writing of any players
that are to be removed or added to their team’s roster as soon as possible.
8. A maximum of 12 players can be registered with any team.
9. Any team fielding or adding to more than the maximum12 registered players will
be penalized 1 (one) point for each additional player above the maximum 12.
10. An extra player maybe added to any team (subject to rule 3) providing that the
team does not exceed 12 registered players.
11. Any team wishing to add another player to their team after the maximum
of 12 players has been recorded, must release a player from their team to accommodate
the new player. The released player can move to another team subject to rule 3 and
4. Under no circumstances can a de-registered player return to his original team.
12. Once a player has been dropped from his team for what ever reason, the statistician
must be informed so that the register can be updated. Once the player has been dropped
he cannot play for the same team again from the date he was removed from the register.
13. A new category of player has been added for this season. Transient players are
only eligible if they do not reside in Saigon, but are visiting for business or
holidays. They may play for 1 team only and only play 6 times during the year. The
team captain must inform his opposite number before the match and include the name
of the player and where he resides on the score sheet.
14. A minimum of 4 players can make up a team for any match day, this giving a theoretical
chance of the team of 4 players winning the game.
15. The teams venue must remain their venue for the season, however if a problem
arises with the venue for whatever reason then an alternative venue will have to
be found. If any team wishes to change their venue for the teams benefit then this
will only be allowed at mid season point, unless the proposal of change is submitted
to the committee in writing stating the reason for the change, so that the committee
can review and make a fair decision on the matter.
16. If a team does drop out of the league then the fixture list will be revised
to show this change and the new fixture list will be sent to all captains upon completion.
THE GAME.
17. All league games will only be played on the designated Tuesday; no changes will
be permitted to this schedule, unless the league executive has approved a prior
agreement.
18. In the unfortunate event of a serious accident or death of a team member then
that team may request a postponement for match that week. The captain in question
must request a postponement from the opposing team captain and advise the committee
as soon as possible.
19. All league matches will commence at 1900 hrs on the designated Tuesday. However
a 15-minute grace period will be allowed to field the minimum required number of
players.
20. All cup matches will be played at the discretion of the committee, the fixture
days will be made to try and suit all concerned outside of the league schedule or
where possible within the league schedule.
21. This season’s format will be played as follows: 2 Triples games 3 double games,
6 singles games and 1 team game.
22. The captains of each team must submit a list of the names of the players that
they expect to be playing in the full match by 1900 hrs. (This will allow each team
captain to confirm the other teams registered players).
23. The captains shall then designate their players for the first triples
match then they will match up the score sheets to determine which players will be
playing each other in the triples. Once the first triples are completed, then
the same steps would be followed for the 2nd triples, the 3 doubles matches, the
6 singles matches and the team game. Once each of the games has been completed
the score details are to be added to the score sheet.
24. If a minimum of four players are not present by 19:15 hrs, then the team that
does not have the correct number of players present will forfeit the game and the
team with the minimum of four players will be credited with the win claiming the
full score of 12 points.
25. For each member whose name has been selected to play and is not available to
play his or her game at the designated time will be deemed as not
available and the game will be awarded to the opposing team.
26. Closest to the bull will decide who starts the game; home team throws first
at the bull. Once the winner of this point is obtained he or she will throw 1st
in game 1, 2nd in game 2 and if it is required the 3rd game will start with the
player who originally won the throw at the bull, a second throw at the bull will
not be required to determine who starts game 3.
27. The format for this season; 2 Triples matches 701 one game each, played one
game at a time, (Unless the captains of each team agree to play both games simultaneously),
3 double games 501 best of 3, 6 singles games 501 best of 3 and 1 team game 1001,
1 game (where each team must field all 6 players, if either of the teams do not
have all 6 players available, then the team that is short can play the game but
must miss a turn for each missing player.
28. Each player can only play once in each event: one triples match, one doubles
match, one singles match and the team game.
29. All games must finish on a double. Each game won will be awarded 1 point to
the winning team/player making a maximum of 12 points available for the match. The
scoring system for the league table will be 3 points for a win 1 for a draw and
0 for a loss.
30. All 12 matches must be played; any matches not completed will be awarded to
the team available to play.
31. Any game ending with both or all players on double one, then the following will
apply: a maximum of 9 darts will be used in an attempt to check out, if neither
team are successful then they will continue throwing for a double one but the bust
rule will not apply.
32. The team that accumulates the most points will receive 3 points for the match
win.
33. If there is a tie for 1 place in the league or for the last place at the end
of the season, the tie will be decided by:
On the win/loss ratio between the tied teams.

If in the unlikely event that the teams are still tied then it will go down to the
game scores for all doubles & single games to decide the final outcome
34. All tons, high finishes and 180’s will be recorded on the web site www.thesidl.com
35. Tons from any of the singles and doubles knockout competitions will not be credited
to the individual or team.
36. The cup competitions venues and dates will be decided/nominated by the committee
later in the season and announced at the appropriate times, usually 2 weeks prior
to each event.
37. The team cup competitions will be held on Tuesdays left free for this purpose
and will be organized later as the season progresses. Individual and doubles competitions
will be advised later.
MONIES, PENALTIES & SCORESHEETS.
38. Team registration payment of 300US$ or equivalent in VND (exchange rate at the
time of payment will apply) will be paid for each participating team; this payment
will be paid no later than the 3rd week of the season, which this year is March
11th. If the fee hasn't been paid by the team, the team will receive one
written warning given to the venue and team captain. If the fee hasn't been
paid by the 4th week of play, the team will be dropped from the league, and all
results/stats will be removed.
39. Any team with more than the maximum12 players registered will be penalized 1
(one) point for each additional player above the maximum of 12 players.
40. Each player must be registered with a team to participate within the league,
the registration is as follows:
Each team must submit a registration of players (minimum 6) before week one of the
season.
From the end of week 3 each player will be recorded as playing for his/her selected
team there is no player registration fee this season
Any player who wishes to join a team after the 3rd week will have to be registered
with the committee immediately after the Tuesday match.
41. Any team having a three match continuous no show will result in suspension from
the darts league unless good reason can be shown to the committee for non shows.
42. Any team that gets suspended from the league will be removed from the status
sheet and all previous scores that were made from games played will be withdrawn
from the status sheet, only the tons, high finish and any 180’s credited to individual
players will remain unchanged if they choose to continue playing darts with another
team. The exception to this rule will be if the majority of the team that wants
to play forms a new team, then they will continue with the previously gained scores.
43. Players who turn up regularly to play their games only to find that the rest
of their team fails to show can request to change teams and only the captain of
the team who that player wants to join needs to inform the committee for final approval
and the registration.
44. Each captain must complete the score sheets after each game; once the match
is completed both captains are to sign each other’s score sheet.
45. This season we will have an automated score sheet entry system via the
web site. Home and away captains are required to enter the match results no later
than Noon on Thursday following a match. The new system is easier than ever and
provides immediate updates to the stats via the web site.
46. The captains and vice captains will be sent an electronic version of the score
sheet prior to the start of the season.
47. If a game has not taken place then it will be the responsibility of the showing
team’s captain to show this on his or her score sheet and if possible get the signature
of the bar owner to verify.
48. Any home team captain or vice captain failing to submit the completed electronic
score sheet to the statistician by the latest 18:00hrs the Thursday evening, following
the Tuesday nights game, the home team will forfeit the match statistics, providing
the away team captain submits their score sheet unless – A) The 2 captains agree
that the away captain will submit the details to the statistician and the home team
captain confirms by email to the statistician that the away team captains score
sheet has been agreed to or B) The statistician is informed by email that the details
submitted by the away team captain will be accepted as correct and that there will
be no repercussions from the home team captain.
49. The league treasurer will display the status of all monies collected and the
team/individual status via the web site on a monthly basis.
50. Once the fixture list is compiled and agreed to by the committee, no changes
will be permitted unless the committee feels it necessary to do so.
51. Any disputes will have to be submitted in writing to the committee, either
by email, postal or hand delivered, no verbal complaints will be accepted. All personnel
had the opportunity to have their say at the AGM, people who did not show will have
to play to the rules and voice your opinion at the next AGM.
52. These rules are to be displayed in each participating bar for all to read.
The spirit of the game should be adhered to at all times but if the committee are
asked to get involved then their decision is final.
